From always.upper.elementary on IG: When I taught my students about ANTs (Automatic Negative Thoughts), I told them a story about when I spilled my coffee all over the floor as I was rushing out the door one morning. As a result, I was late to work. I explained that I was frustrated in that moment, and the first thought that popped into my head was, “gosh, I’m stupid.” When I told my students this story, they were shocked. One of them actually gasped and said, “Ms. Ringold you’re not stupid!!!”
